HIKER'S BODY FOUND
The body of 22-year-old Joel McLin was discovered about 3:30 Wednesday afternoon near Mount Washington. McLin fell several hundred feet while on a day hike. Searchers found his body at the 5,700 foot level between Mount Ellinor and Mount Washington. The search began Tuesday night when McLin failed to call home. Family members went to the Mount Washington trailhead, found his vehicle, and hiked the trail in an attempt to locate the young man. The Mason County Sheriff's Office was contacted about 10pm. More than 40 people helped in the search Wednesday, including Mason County Search and Rescue, Olympic Mount Rescue, a King County Sheriff's helicopter, and a Thurston County Sheriff's helicopter.
